I have TOO MANY stories about street harassment to share but I decided to share just this one because I can remember it the most.
One time while I was on the Metro in the Hollywood/Vine area (Los Angeles, CA) some guy was making perverted comments and whistling at me. I was tired because of a long day at my internship and in absolutely no mood to deal with this. I kept walking and he kept saying, “You know you like it… you know you like it..” or something to that effect. I flipped him off.
He angrily ran after me but I was able to escape to the bottom platform where the subway was and where there were plenty of people. Luckily he didn’t follow me down there, but it was definitely the scariest of my experiences.

What the hell?! I can’t believe that to these harassers their actions, in their warped minds, constitute as “normal” behavior. Beyond words!

This kind of crap makes other men angry! Because, we start to think that our women are not safe in the streets alone. My fiancee has shared a lot of stories to me as well about this, and after hearing all of that i am not taking any risk. Now i take her everywhere she needs to go by car, or walking by her side.

I know you mean well, but that mentality is the reason why this happens. Seeing women as property who can’t take care of themselves adds to this problem. The harassers need to change their actions, not the women who get harassed.
