I was repeatedly yelled, bonked, barked and whistled at while running (for exercise, not for my life). I was also asked 2 or 3 times if I needed a ride. All of the people were men.

A. Brown, I too have had experiences similar to you. I’m sorry for what you went through. While jogging on a road with a side walk in Virginia Beach, Virginia several years ago, a car with 3 men inside pulled up beside me, driving slowly. They asked me if I was from around there and where I lived. I didn’t answer them, but instead, stopped and then turned around and went back to where I had just come from, jogging in the opposite direction of them. I was so angry at having my jog disrupted by these jerks.
The sense of entitlement and lack of empathy harassing men have for the safety concerns of women disgusts me. I can’t see how these men could possibly have good relationships with women. This in the end is how they pay for their rotten behavior-a lack of truly loving, fulfilling relationships with women because women do not want anything to do with them.
