“I ran as fast I could and he was chasing after me”

January 19, 2016 By Contributor

I remember it very well, it was maybe 4-5 years ago and I was in 3rd grade. My mom allowed me to walk to school alone. Now I believe that was a mistake because as I turned the corner I heard the footsteps. I looked behind me and he put his head down I started to walk faster and so did he. I ran as fast I could and he was chasing after me. He attempted to grab me so I screamed and ran faster. I got close to the crossing guards and I told them I was being followed by a man and turned back to point at the man but he had disappeared. I told my principal and gave the police the best description I could.

Ever since then I’ve been traumatized and shakey. I know you’re saying it was five years ago, get over it. I just can’t as it’s extremely hard to. It was a traumatizing experience, but now I’m in 7th grade and I’ve had two other experiences. And that is my story.

“It haunts me to this day”

January 13, 2016 By Contributor

After a long day of fun, my father and I went to CVS. As I was looking in an aisle, I automatically felt a feeling of discomfort when I realized a man around his late 20’s had been looking at me. I’m sure everyone knows that look when a boy/man is looking you up and down.

Anyway, I continued to look for band-aids. As he walked closer and closer, I turned around and he said to me, “How are you?”. I knew better than to be rude, so I felt obligated to at least say something so I did. “Good, thanks” I responded. I turned my back on him and searched for those band-aids, when I suddenly hear, “Damn, you look good”.

The fact that he said those four words, knowing I felt uncomfortable made me lose it. I walked away, in full speed, practically sprinting. He followed me. Fortunately, I had found my father so I decided to just stay with him and get it over with, but he continued to follow me. My father sensed that something was wrong, so eventually I told him what had happened. Still, he followed us, and even laughed. We walked to the cash register, and then next thing I know, my father and the man were arguing. It all happened too fast. I became overwhelmed with fear. It’s not the first time this has happened, but it haunts me to this day.

“He would try all this on another girl or woman”

January 6, 2016 By Contributor

It all happened recently when I was coming back from my coaching classes. It was a little bit dark and a a guy 25 or 30 years old started following me.

I was scared and after some time he started to sing a vulgar song and started passing sexual comments about me. I was really scared and obsessed. Then a few meters away from my house, he suddenly came in front of me and said, “I want to have sex with you. When r u free????”

And I was like roasted from up to down. I grabbed his collar took him in front of the whole market away from my house and then i said, “Do you want to have sex with me, no problem, do whatever you want to do, you are free to do.”

And then I saw many teen girls like me and they came in front of me and asked what happened. I started crying and told everything that happened. Then after some seconds, I stopped crying and I said to him, “You don’t have a mother or sister in your home, do you? You don’t have respect or manners for how to talk to a girl?”

And in front of the whole crowd I said, “These type of guys are a true figure of demons.” And I slapped him and took him to the police and came back…

If i ignore it and kept all this in silence then next time he would try all this on another girl or woman!!!!

“One of them thought I was playing a game and started to follow me”

January 4, 2016 By Contributor

I was walking down the street when I passed a group of guys that had to be at least 20 years older than me. One of them called out, “Damn mami!” Then one of his friends chimed in, “Nice ass baby!”

I was unbelievably embarrassed and started to walk faster. One of them thought I was playing a game and started to follow me. I got to my apartment building, typed in the code to get in quickly, and slammed the door behind me so he couldn’t come with me.
